Nikon Coolscan V vs 4000 ED

I am in the market for a film scanner and have been following the e-Bay market for used equipment. It has struck me that the Nikon 4000 is commanding a much higher price than the much newer model, the Coolscan V. The specs of both models are practically identical. The online reviews of both are favorable and do not indicate any real differences in performance. Does anyone have any information to explain the price differential??

Also any information on experience with either of these models, or other brands would be of value.
