The settings discussed here are mainly those for exposure and focus. Is it a good idea to use the camera's automatic functions for these, or is it better to do it manually? I'll also be talking about automatic settings designed to stabilize the shot by compensating for the photographer's inevitable parasitic movements. When should they be activated? When do they do more harm than good?
