Polychrome Mayday Parade & Monotone Image

Monday is May Day which reminds me of the Minneapolis Mayday parades that for many years were held on the first Sunday of May. After some 40 years of parades the parade was discontinued after 2019.

Here are several pictures from the parade, taken with the Pentax K-7 and the Sigma 50-500mm (Bigma) lens all hand held. Quite a riot of color was it the K-7, the parade or both?

If you like these photos, you can see more in a video slide show that I put together from these and more images (all photos K-7, most with the Bigma, but several with the DA 12-24mm) at the following link (hope this works)

Happy May Day! Spring is coming here in the north,

Here is the de rigeuer monochrome image taken today with the K-1 and processed with DXO SilverEFX 3.0

I forgot to include the mono image from today:

  • 150.0 mm
  • ƒ/11
  • 1/200 sec
  • Center-Weighted Average

  • ISO 800

Great images Bob. I wish Pentax would make a lens that could cover the focal range of the Bigma.

Perhaps a 55-550mm? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge know what you mean ;)
Now that’s an ingenious idea! Wish I had thought of that! :D
