Post your nature and wildlife pictures 2

Looked out of my window this morning and spotted this beautiful bird just standing on a wall. Not sure what it is as I'm not really a 'bird guy' but we do have a lot of Ospreys around here. Went upstairs and grabbed my camera and I was just in time to catch a few shots of it.

This is taken with my 500mm lens and fairly heavily cropped. Didn't have time to get the convertor on or get any closer.

Well its a young Goshawk or Accipiter Gentilis which are rarely seen as usually they are stealthy and secretive, it surely was your lucky day :)

Thanks for sharing.

I've usually only caught Green Herons when they are already flying and far away, but found this one hunting among the rocks along a shoreline yesterday

Good capture, and nice image. It looks like he belongs there!
Thanks. According to some local passersby I spoke at the time of the captures they have been there for quite some time allready. She also told me about recent plans to bring the shack down after relocating the owls...which is almost always a bad idea...but the local mayor and his team seem to have made their minds up, inspite of the advice from an expert to leave the breeding pair be for another year. The mayor 'desperately' wants to build new homes for the ever expanding community. Birds like the Little owls are becoming more rare over here with each new building site.

Tested out a fun new-to-me, very old lens yesterday/ D2Xs w/ TC-16a w/ 400mm f3.5 Nikkor AIS
