R4 repair info

My old R4s had similar problems with seals. It was fixed with Pentax stuff and I understand the camera is still light tight after 8 years or more. So I supose what I'm saying is that it is possible to improvise with non Leica seals.

Good luck, and if Justin's reference brings no joy, let us know how you get on.

Mike this might seem silly, but have you tried Leica, NJ. This body is after all,is the same as the R6.2 which was only recently discontinued.
They'll probably send it to you f.o.c. (Try Dave in the Parts dept.)

I have an R4 where the advance lever occasionally sticks at the end of the stroke. I can gently push it back. It is an intermittant problem. I thought it might be cold weather affecting the lubricants, but even after sitting inside it happens once in awhile. Any ideas on what's wrong? Or does it look like I should send it in for a CLA?
