Shipping date DMR announced at PMA

Leica has finally announced a ship date of April for its 10MP Digital Module-R, with a price of US $4,495.

To bad it's 6MP too few and $2000 too much! Let alone 2 years late.

Now that it's April, has anyone heard of a ship date for the Digital Module-R? I can find nothing on the Leica homepage, or anywhere else, for that matter. I'm guessing (hint of sarcasm here) that Leica will announce a mid-summer date, or else make no announcement at all, considering their Leica A.G.'s financial troubles. Even with the years of testing and R&D, the marketing of the Module, possible software bug, etc. might make it financially prohibitive to even put the thing out. Any other thoughts out there?

DIGITAL PRODUCT AWARD 2005

The LEICA DIGITAL-MODUL-R has won the DIMA
INNOVATIVE DIGITAL PRODUCT AWARD 2005. The
American Digital Imaging Association had announced the
award within the framework of the 9th DIMA Digital Camera
Shoot-Out for new products incorporating outstanding
innovations in technology, application and design. The
selection was made from the several hundreds of products
that were on show at the American PMA trade fair in
Orlando. With the award, the trade journalists praised the
LEICA DIGITAL-MODUL-R for its high quality and forward-
looking solution as the world's first digital back for 35mm
cameras.
