Sigma MC21 LED?

I've recently picked up the MC-21.

The manual says there is a LED that comes on to display lens compatability. I can't even see a LED anywhere. The only thing I can see is a very tiny dot on the barrel, somewhere near 10 o'clock position, or there abouts. But it doesn't illuminate. Have I got a dud?

Mine never lights up and I use all kinds of Canon lenses with it.

I use the MC-21 with my SA mount lenses to my FP but no LED
