Sony RX10 V

..will do! First thing to check will be the lens with regard to edge sharpness. In my current RX10 the lens was replaced under warranty after I found out that at the wide angle side (24 to about 35 mm equiv) the right edge was, and at the tele side (about 100 -200 mm equiv) the left edge was unsharp at infinity at sometimes also at other focus distances.. From the DPReview forum I learned a lot of the mk4 specialties. I shoot only RAW with DxO PureRAW (or PL6) combined with Capture One. Works great with the RX10!

The RX10 iv will probably be updated, as desired by some. It's currently, as it has been, is the best bridge, fixed lens, super-zoom camera made. Sony has no compelling reason to update/change the best camera, in its (or most) categories. Could they make it better? Sure. Is it necessary? Nope. It's a large, relatively heavy camera so it's not really designed for a fully-articulated LCD screen. Could they add one? Sure. Do they need to? Nope. So, if you owned Sony, would you spend millions updating a camera that sells great, and has loyal followers - just because? I certainly wouldn't.
The RX10iv could be improved significantly for little additional cost by simply replacing the firmware, sensor, and electronics with that from the RX100VII. Of course, the firmware would have to be specific for the RX10V lens. I own both the RX10iv and RX100vii. Because I shoot sports I find the RX100vii AF tracking a very significant improvement over the RX10iv. If Sony did that I would buy a 10V in a minute.

I will pick up my mk4 this Monday..
Quite exited!
Congrats on the new camera Ab.

Let me suggest getting a copy of Alexander White's book, or Gary Friedman's book on the RX10iv. They go through all the 169 menu items with much more explanation than Sony documentation. Once you get that initial setup and load up the FN menu with your most used settings, you will rarely have to dive onto that huge menu. The My Menu setting is great for those items that won't fit on the FN menu for quick access.

I am looking forward to seeing a few of your results once you get out and start using the camera.

Thanks Jerry!
I will probably first start to set up my personal setting in the C1, C2 and C3, and the FN menu and start shooting; later I will most likely get one of the books you recommended.
