No macro lens

Sony and Oly bodies with the Canon FD 100-300 F/5.6L with a raynox DCR-250 on the front, Sunpak DX-8R ring-flash all at F/32. I like using a zoom rather than stuck at a fixed focal length. The challenge is in live subjects so a zoom comes in handy. Fixed focal length, not so much.

Interesting. I just looked that product up. I have questions

Does AF work (obviously not in the full range but in a narrow range)?

What kind of working distance to you get with that setup?

Howdy Ian.

It's completely manual focus and settings, including the flash setup. Canon FD was the old manual focus lenses and about 35-40 years old. I only own 1 AF lens, the rest are all manual focus. The ring flash needs the power settings set. The lens to subject distance at 300mm with the Raynox DCR-250 on, is around 150-170mm for a 4:1 macro ratio. There's nothing auto in there Ian and I would never use AF for macro.
