Keith Haring, painter and traveler, was born in the United States in 1962. He volunteered for causes close to his heart, such as the fight against AIDS, which took his life at age 28. He often placed a beaming child at the center of his work, and this one is no exception. Entitled The Life of Christ, it is one of his latest creations. The Spirit Foundation, founded by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, donated it to the city of Paris in response to Keith Haring's wish to have one of his works there. It was the city that proposed its installation in the Saint-Eustache church.
