This wasn't Amazon :)

There have been numerous comments made about the quality of Amazon shipping. Some said this was one reason why Amazon was getting rid of DPR.
I ordered 2 SD cards for the R7s from B&H. Got a tracking number for USPS and figured they would come in an envelope.
It was a bit more than that -

  • Canon - Canon EOS R7
  • RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM
  • 45.0 mm
  • ƒ/8
  • 1/30 sec
  • Pattern
  • Auto exposure
  • ISO 5000

The cards were wrapped in one roll of bubble wrap, with the second roll to hold that in place in the box.
Mailman could have driven his truck over the box and not hurt the cards.
Gives me confidence when I order those high priced items.

I dunno. I've had nothing but excellent experiences on shipping and delivery of both expensive and inexpensive items from B&H.
I trust them more than Amazon. I also trust them way more than my local dealer. OH WAIT! I don't have a local dealer :ROFLMAO:

I've gotten a lot of items from B&H that were packed very well. I also got a new lens in its original package. B&H shipped it in a much larger box with no packing around the lens box. So this lens slid and bounced around freely in the larger package which is about the last thing you would want. I've also received both good and poor packaging from Amazon. Bottom line - it kind of depends on the attitude or stress of the packer person at any given moment, no matter who they may work for.

I'm not doubting your experiences, but I've found it happens a LOT more with Amazon than B&H.

It may vary by country; I'm referring to American-packed Amazon packages.

Just got a lens from B&H - 23 feet of bubble wrap.

One thing this forum needs - remember Henryp? I wonder where he ended up.

I'm sure it does happen a lot more with Amazon. I would expect it personally, since I get 4 times the items from Amazon although the items are rarely delicate instruments. Anyway, USA here. As I recall I also reported the B&H packaging fiasco at the time and it hasn't happened since.

This is Amazon -

Thin cardboard box stuffed in bubble mailer. Good thing item wasn't breakable.
I'm glad I wasn't gifting this to someone.
