Too Many People

Last Sunday, there were too many people at the Parc de Sceaux (near Paris) for my taste. My hopes to enjoy the Hanami festival under the cherry blossoms were quickly dashed.

I find that I am usually frustrated or annoyed if one person, or maybe two get in the way of "my perfect composition," BUT when a whole bunch of people are in the scene, it often becomes interesting again.

I agree with you. For this picture I thought many of these people where nicely isolated from one another. Under the cherry trees it was another story.

It might be interesting to try it again with a dark ND filter, leaving the shutter open for awhile, reducing, maybe eliminating any moving objects. Then composite-in the fountain and clouds.

I suppose before the global tourism really recover, the worse is not seen yet.

The following was an old photo from my trip to Spain before Covid:

The Covid made people harder to travel. People getting bored and so whenever there would be any photo opportunity locally, people rushed to the scene for a shot. A recent leakage of info to the public of cherry blossom (very rarely for its scale locally), many thousands of people crowded in a tiny garden for a shot within a few days:

That was too many people to me  :z04-head-wall: .

Thank you Wahrsager. Another option would be to make many very short exposures on the same file, to average out anybody who moves.

Thank you Albert. You were clearly in a worse situation than I was.
