In 2014 I made the photo shown (partially) below with my Sony A7RII and my Canon 100mm macro lens (also shown below) using an adapter.
Lately I have been reviewing my photos and found this one, and I am very keen on figuring out how I made it. I would like to do more photography in which the
light stretches out beyond the object and gradually fades away. My leading hypothesis is that the internal barrel of the Canon lens is quite
reflective, so that this effect results from reflections bouncing around inside the lens.
Unfortunately I no longer have the lens (sold) and would appreciate some help in investigating my hypothesis. Does anyone have this lens? If so can you
determine if the inside of the barrel is highly reflective? If someone could give me a sample photo, that would be very helpful. If I determine that the
effect results from the lens, I will buy another one.
Best regards,
Mike
