Waves with more punch

The nouvelle vague lacked a bit of punch. So I thought I would present three waves from previous years, all taken from the same spot.

Those are nice and I also liked the "nouvelle vague" post. Waves can be mesmerizing and "stopping the action" at the right point is a fun objective. You have inspired me to go back and look at some "wave pictures" from the Washington Coast (western Pacific Ocean)... miles and miles (kms and kms) of expansive flat beach with a huge churning ocean as a backdrop.
 
Instead of starting a new thread, I though it might be OK to piggy-back on this one since I already opened my mouth! Hopefully BratPix won't mind. I pulled-out one of my old portable hard drives and found a wave picture. More-or-less what I had in mind. This is from 2014. Washington coast (Ocean Shores). We used to go there a lot... and I have lots of "wave pictures" (LOL) from those days when we would go out to the coast for a visit. It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Kind of magical. Makes you feel like you are on the edge of the continent -- because you are! Japan and China are "over there" which makes you think about the distance and the vastness of it all. This is a wide-angle shot (obviously) which really doesn't properly convey the power and immensity of the sea... which is why it is magical... and makes you realize that we are just a small part of the world.

I don’t have any pictures of this happening, somewhere around the mid 80’s. We lived on the coast (Leigh On Sea Essex) we had a Volvo estate. We had huge waves and a warning, we clever souls parked close/parrallel to the sea wall, 2 heavy waves later the Volvo had been pushed along, petrified we drove away as quickly as possible..

Very nice. It could be a painting!
 
Good observation! I hadn't thought about that. Yes, the clouds look like they could be painted.
