Whatbs the final verdict about 300mm f4

Yes Joseph, the CFV back works on any V camera. No sync cords or adapters are needed. The digital back is activated by the film advance mechanism in the camera body. Simple but ingenious.

In the menu selections of the CFV back you simply select which camera body you are using.

This includes the SWC camera and 200 series camera BTW. I will be sending my 203FE in to be modified to take this back also. The modification is to simply deactivate the auto ISO used for setting the camera when an E type film back is used. Once modified you need to set the cameras ISO manually when using the E type film backs. No big deal.

This 16 bit, 16 meg square sensor back is a stunning performer, and better than the 12 bit, 16 meg Kodak back I used for many years. I believe it is because of the sensor size to meg count ratio, firmware and software advancements.

DJ,
If you want to be convinced about not using the 100-400 I'll be glad to lend you mine for testing- I was going to get around to selling it soon. My guess is it won't take you long to make up your mind.

Kenny

Hi, Kenny!

Thanks for the kind offer, but my mind is already made up and it didn't take me long at all! Hope all is well, good and dandy.

I'll probably end up with the 300/4 L lens, as I don't normally do much tele work.
