Nah, same place this one was made - Lower Antelope Canyon near Page, Az.

Hi Woody! Long time no see

. I had a great time at that workshop. I went to Langkawi, Malaysia in Feb - almost done getting those printed now, then I'll do the web versions for my site. Very laid back and enjoyable island.

Very nice. Is that inside a cave then? -Arizona? amazing lighting and colours. Is it natural?
Malasia looks nice too.

Yes- it's an underground canyon. Light is dim, just what comes down from some openings. The color is dull and dim to the eye, but the right white balance brings out the inherent chemical differences in the various sedimentary layers - like turning on a black light. It's pretty amazing that all those different contrasting colors come out from the light being reflected off the various surfaces. Shafts of light also tend to give additional drama. I hve several from this series in the gallery here.

Well, it's brilliant. It must have been a tremendous experience to be there. It is very surprising that it's dull and then brightens up like that in a photograph.
I should love to go sometime.
I'll have a look at the other photos in the gallery.
Thanks DJ

I've just had a look and your pictures are superb.
Thank you very much for sharing them,
John

Thanks for the generous comments, John. It does help to be in the right place at the right time. I'd like to say that they look much more fabulous on a 13x19 print, which is true often, but other times the web version acts as camouflage for sloppy technique

I'm very tempted to try a E-330 with Zeiss lenses. I was concerned about not being able to manual-focus through a 350D viewfinder, so the liveview seems like a great idea. I could try the E-330 at the MIPS in Paris, with the Olympus 50mm f2 macro lens, and it was great.

It doesn't look at all sloppy to me. I like your modesty though

Antelope Canyon is definitely added to our list of places to visit. I've had a look on the internet too. Is it claustrophobic in there?

John, I'm sloppy compared to some of the more dedicated photographers I have had the pleasure to know

I guess the canyon could be claustrophobic for some people. It does get tight and if there are a lot of visitors you can definitely run into each other, quite literally
