Is there reason for this timidity?

If I remember correctly, the subject referred to in that message was banned from this group for repeatedly ignoring warnings about posting self-serving messages. Does this now mean we cannot openly share commercial resources in this forum? I'm speaking about sources of parts, services, etc. that do not provide us personal gain.

I know I have posted links to this particular dealer (An authorized Y/C vendor) and I have posted links to eBay auctions that I felt would be of interest to the group. None of these posts had any relationship to me personally.

My understanding has been that the owner of this forum does not permit individuals or businesses to use this space for free advertising. Certainly a valid position. But, does this also imply that there shall be no open sharing of commercial resources between the general membership? I have not seen reason to worry about this type of knowledge exchange.

I believe Dirk has communicated his requirements in the past, but it seems we are still "walking on eggshells". Do I have an inaccurate understanding of the rules?

I used CameraLeather (www.cameraleather.com) when I recovered my 139. Good selection and they ship anywhere. I'm not sure they do the 159 but worth asking.
