They're back! At least, I hope. This will be the third year that yellow-crested night herons have nested in my yard. The first year they produced four chicks but last year was a disaster. A windstorm blew all of the eggs out of their nest, and they moved on, and I was afraid they wouldn't come back. One landed Tuesday on a nearby tree and today one was at the old nest. I hope they try again.
