Zeiss Softar Software Emulation

Is there a technique or software plugin for CS2 which would emulate a Zeiss Softar filter? I am hesitant to use the filter itself because the effect is irreversible. Thanks!

In a word ... " No".

The Softar is a uniquely made filter and nothing in PS even comes remotely close to the effect.

If using one I usually apply a Softar 1 for people photography, occasionally a #2 for landscapes ... I've never found a use for a Softar #3.

In this month's 'Rangefinder' magazine there is an article on p. 88 about simulating the Zeiss Softar filter. Looks pretty darned good to me.
