Where are the posting rules?

:)

You agreed to them when you registered. You clicked on the checkbox that you have read them and agreed to them. Our Terms and Rules. You find a link to them also at the bottom of the forum page.

Thanks, I see it now.

But.......I am not seeing anything that looks like the DPR posting rules, etc.

Oh, well. I will just do the best I can.

In most cases it is common sense and netiquette. Use your own judgement.

Treat others like you want to be treated. Do not troll, provoque or be unpolite to others. Do not harm others or encourage others to do so. etc. pp.

ToU are written from lawyers. They keep the words as broad and general as possible.

Good advice.

Welcome Tedolph, from SE Wisconsin.
I would like to make note that it is often possible to stay within set rules while still antagonizing and trolling. I hope you won't do this.
However, it seems like you're coming in with the right attitude, so I look forward to it.
Part of the problem with attitudes like yours is that you are imputing motive to posts that are within the Rules. Unless you have ESP, you can't do that accurately. Whether or not someone is "antagonized" by a post that is within the Rules should be irrelevant.

If Moderators are not going to follow the Rules, what is the point of having them?

Honestly, it looks like you are coming in with the wrong attitude.

tedolph,

this is not an attitude, this is an experience. I share this experience and I agree to Smaug's explanation. This is not just a dpreview experience. I run community forums for over 20 years now. This happens and it does not happen seldom.

Admiral Tedolph here, landing in his Strato-Cruiser after escaping the wrath of the DPR Moderators.

Tedolph is pleased to report that he went out with a bang, receiving a permanent, eternal and life long ban from one of the DPR m4/3 forum Moderators.

Get ready for a wild ride!

Tedolph, Admiral

Tedolph Undersea Command

Nice to see you here.

More familiar faces from DPR and welcome aboard.
