Could not resist it.

Today I bought a J5, a lovely boxed example and I could not resist. Although the phone seems to be the way I will go for some outings I really do not enjoy the experience, so this is a new challenge, I will miss the viewfinder of my V1 but will enjoy the tilt screen, I had one on my P7100 and really liked it. I only have my two 10-30s now, but that will work nicely with the manual version on myV1 and the PD on the J5. Looking forward to testing it.

A nice addition to your gear. I keep a 10-30 PD on one of my J5 bodies as it makes a handy compact setup indoors. I'm sure you will put it to good use and I look forward to seeing some results posted here.

I have added both J5 and V2 bodies to my gear this year. The J5 lives on my computer desk for quick access. I have my original 10-30 on it most of the time. I think you'll like it.

Gary, I just now read this post. Very cool! The J5 is an awesome little box. Good IQ with a fast enough auto-focus system for even the mean streets of London. LOL
Looking forward to seeing your photos from the J. I almost exclusively use one of my 18.5mm with it.

very good choice. It has the best image quality from all models. High ISO for the 1 inch sensor very good. I think this time they did not use the Aptina sensor in the J5. I am not sure, but I think it is a Sony sensor. But do not quote me on that.

Hope you like your J5 - its a great camera.

Also like tilt screens - it nearly offsets the lack of a viewfinder on the J5.

Just on phones - trying to get really low shots I find tricky - almost point and hope. Haven't used other than my phone in months and then just walking the dog. The dog walk is full of grey squirrels and their offspring right now - I can get quite close to them even with the dog - keep thinking I should have brought a camera with me.

I think my favourite N1s are still the V1 and the V3 even though their sensors aren't as "good". If I could be bothered, the difference, if I could see it, can be largely recovered in post and if I really need much larger DR the I should use a larger sensor

cheers
