I bought a Panasonic DMC LC5, mainly because it was greatly reduced in price and claimed a Leica lens. Can't afford the Leica Digilux unfortunately. I'm so far very happy with my Lumix but the instruction manual is rubbish. It runs through all the features and how to activate them, which is pretty intuitive anyway, but it doesn't explain why. Although I've owned film cameras for years, I'm a newby to digital and some of the digital functions do need explanation. I'm assuming that the Digilux is essentially the same camera under the skin, so how is the Digilux manual for explanation - and what's the best way of getting a copy?

> [.Hi Richard - your predicament is what I have secretly feared - that the twaint aint meet - that is why I am still researching into digital and relying on my good old fashioned film equipment. Please keep us updated on your progress.

It's quite interesting the discussion about noise if ISO is higher than 100. Anybody knows where can I download images taken by Digilux 1 with ISO 400 used?

Thanks,
Trisnadi

I have an ex&le I just made, posted to http://home.earthlink.net/~attinasi/diesel-10-ISO400.jpg

The image was reduced in size, but was taken in high-res mode and saved as JPG with HIGH quality from PhotoShop Elements.

I always force my Digilux 1 to ISO 100, as you can see it is terrible at ISO 400 in low light. At ISO 100, however, it is quite nice!

I have had a digilux for about 7 months now and it keeps on amazing me with its versatility and amazing pictures, I too now only use it at iso 100 as the noise at other settings is distracting, it takes a while to learn about this camera and get the best out of it , I also own a m6 so i can tell the difference bteween film and digital.
