Thank you for the add. It seems DPReview will be sorely missed. I shoot the Lecia M3, Nikon Rangefinder, Contax iia rangefinder and Lumix G9 and S5. Is anyone on here from the Houston area?

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!

Are you on rangefinderforum.com too? Seems like a great fit. Of course HERE is a great fit too. I’m a member at DPR too, but this place is a lot better run. We just need to start participating here instead to get it built up.

I’m shooting mostly Nikon Z these days.

I am in Clear Lake and use a Nikon D300s, I take all kinds of photos but the most interesting is of satellites. I am a member of an international group of astronomers and we track satellites.

If cougmantx is in the Houston, Texas region I would like to talk to you. Charles

Yes, but I like the Leica M3 rangefinder better.
I understand very well. Obviously the M3 has outdone the postwar Contax IIa/IIIa by far in 1954.
In fact, it's 18 years younger than the "Contax base", the prewar II and III. Especially the finder itself.

If I had got enough money for two M3 bodies and four lenses (like my nice Contax gear) I would try it, too.
As for the lenses, I have begun to appreciate the uncoated Zeiss ones (prewar). Something I wouldn't be able to find for an M3 ;).
