K3 iii monochrome available is improving

The weather has been awful. Had the weather been better then I may have ventured to a different location. in order to make it more interesting shots in the thread. What has happened is that I have simply left the house to very local spots and it was the same again today.
So sorry again to show you the same shot location views as already shown.
Again the quality of the images in the skies is unbelievable. I personally have no doubt whatsoever that the benefit is seen on the screen. The delicate nuances and greys and tones is displayed much better than my colour cameras. It is only an opinion until one shoots the K3 iii
monochrome at the same time as a colour camera. I might find that the difference is there but is much more subtle if I do such a test. Your imagination may play a part. Every single pixel has something individual to express and you are aware of this when you look at the images. The skies are incredibly detailed with tones delicate and subtle even on ordinary average skies.

These two shots taken today after rain stopped and skies cleared for a while.

You might find this interesting since it was taken today. ( my opinion is not altered. The K3 iii monochrome would look even better i am sure in the places where subtlety is supposed to be. )

This is what my ( lovely :geek: ) canon 5D mark2 captured today. It is fitted with Sigma 12 to 24 that is useful in the location locally. I am so into black and white that I prefer the black and white version but I can post a colour version aswell because I know some photographers maintain that a black and white only camera is a ridiculous idea.
I only want to be fair. The K3 iii monochrome does not need to cheat over the colour sensors with untrue opinions. It is superior on screen with my eyes so I am very pleased. In fact I doubt I will use it for street photography much. Its power is in delivering sky detail on my screen in landscape photography. The fact it is ApSc can help weight wise when you consider you may be often with 2 cameras in the bag having such a camera that cannot do colour photography.

Processed into Black and white from colour sensor in Canon 5D mark2 with a strong red channel around 90% in channel mix for your information.

I hope that Ricoh/Pentax will bring out a fullframe DSLR in the shape of the K3. I do not like the look and feel of the K1.

I still have 2 great Pentax fullframe limited lenses. They are great and tiny. With an adapter on other MLU bodies they loose the size-advantage. With crop factor 43mm and 77mm is less attractive for me.

So I am still waiting for a "better" K1 with the DNA of the old Pentax APS-C bodies.

That will not happen I am afraid for you. But they may get it slightly smaller.

Mirrorless in Full Frame looks really small much like APSC DSLR in size but that would be difficult for Ricoh I believe in a full frame camera K1 iii.
Personally the size does not bother me but I shoot landscapes most all the time with my FF K1. If I used it for streets or walk around holiday snaps OR PRCTICALLY ANYTHING OTHER THAN LANDSCAPES then yes that may be an issue slightly. You may be right that they will drop size slightly since mirrorless is so popular small. You may be right to a degree.
The days of D850 size cameras may be over in terms of massive sales perhaps now mirrorless is around.
I discussed or mentioned earlier last week the wind was horrendous. I had to stop using ApSc camera with strap blowing in the wind and use proper size camera with HEFT in order to be confident in such winds. There is no free lunch. My tripod is a heavy 057 with heavy medium format hydrostatic head. I understand wind concerns and I bracket 99% so need perfect alignment. I like the K1 as it is but others may prefer a light smaller one. Also controls can get fiddly to a degree as size goes down so there are plusses and minuses. K1 is great but would be cramped with controls if it were much smaller.
They may go opposite and make an even bigger viewfinder which is a nice idea except for the cost retail perhaps and also putting off many customers. I would love Ricoh to make a viewfinder never seen ever before on a camera 35mm. Over time customers will be attracted to real viewfinders but it is still early to be seen as hip to buy a camera with a viewfinder. Everyone tells each other mirrorless is the greatest. Eventually kids leaving school will want a viewfinder when they rebel against their dad's mirrorless TV screen viewfinders just exact same as they want vinyl records that spin around these days. The tide will turn from 0.005 % or whatever to something much bigger especially when Ricoh has both EVF and real viewfinders in the same camera.
Bit of geartalk there.

I thought I would post these shots from today here because they are mono camera shots. In case someone sees the thread that has not seen the pictures before. One can hope there are new readers !!

The dark railway line shot is quite unusual. The sun looks like a film shot. Proper graduated sun fades darker into sky properly like film used to.
