Kodak DCS200ir, Micro-Nikkor 55/2.8. This camera was easy to hand-hold. Take one picture to get the internal hard drive spinning and it acted as a gyroscope.

A few months ago, after getting off the train I noticed that something was unusual about the sky. The clouds were slanted almost perfectly at an angle of maybe 30 degrees. An anomaly, to be sure, but ever since I’ve often wondered about the cause of such a cloud formation. Does anyone know the reason for this phenomenon?

This is another photo of the bizarre cloud formation/weather anomaly. Can anyone offer an explanation for what is pictured here? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! It was truly a sight to behold. Everyone knows that clouds are non-geometric in shape, but the bottom part of the above cloud was nearly in a straight line. Well, I guess we’ll have to wait for a specialist to explain. Thanks again!

I've seen that in the clouds with cold fronts coming in. I guess the change is so drastic it causes a straight line (my guess).
