Another photo competition effort. The challenge was to use the little tea candle in an image.
The candle was placed on a black seamless background and lit. Light source was placed just out of FOV and slightly behind the plane of the candle.
The flame was extinguished and exposure made when the smoke had risen high enough. A number of attempts might be necessary (as in this case
), before a desireable result is achieved.
Finished file was reversed in PS. Colours were added using Overlay blending method.
