An oldie from the Canon 40D, noisy as well as it was an overcast day with occasional raindrops, but an experience thoroughly enjoyed .

I'm curious though how close you were to the bear? From what I gathered photographing these bears is never withouth danger. Over here we never go into bear territory for the simply fact there arent any :)

I was at full stretch ... 400mm plus my 1.4 convertor making 550mm plus the advantage of a crop sensor (Nikon D500). I also cropped the shot a bit in post but not too much. So the bear was several hundred yards away. I was one of quite a lot of photographers and we were all set up at the roadside. There were also a couple of Rangers there ... more for keeping us in line than the Bear .. lol.
