SIGMA HIGH ISOs ... and so it works...

Let me clarify:

I'm specifically looking for something similar to RAW Developer as apparently, from what Klaus R has demonstrated, it has more fine tuning controls to use for colour recovery. I've actually taken a look at the RAW processors you've linked already earlier. Thus I posted my question here because those tools were not what I was looking for.

Why not just go with Raw Photo Studio ?

I just called up the page English Translated RAW PhotoStudio and clicking on purchase link to pay for the download version brought up a page where the price was €33.61, currently $47.026US. The Globell Online Store payment page has a language selection in the upper right of the page.

According to Klaus-R, the English Language version does NOT have the same colour adjustments as the German version.

Then imac, provide the link to purchase the German language software.

Where did you learn German ? I need to learn it and also tell me how to alter my computer to function completely in German so that the software keeps all the needed features.

Hi Steaphany,

I do not speak German, the entire German translation of Raw PhotoStudio was done courtesy of the Google Search Engine!

I use Google as my Home Page, to which I added the Google Language Translation feature. This Language translator is able to translate single words or a complete text in a vast number of different Languages and is extremely easy to use.

In use, one either types or copies and pastes the single word, phrase or complete text into the Translation 'box', click the Translate button and it responds with the translation.

Note, if one misspells a word, it will merely repeat the same misspelled word as the answer!
One then knows to re-check the spelling or that further research is required.

Microsoft Operating Systems are available is a number of different Languages, as are their Keyboards.
I use An Apple 24" iMac computer and I'm able to change the operating Language at will.

It is definitely not necessary to learn German in order to use the software, after all, when one first uses any Photo editing software one has to deal with unfamiliar new words and 'strange' terms . One soon becomes adept at using the software without learning any new Language or converting a computer!

Do it with gimp and wavelet denoise ?

Hi,

I tried to make what KR does in GIMP, and I think that the result is quite good.
I use the "wavelet denoise" plugin
http://registry.gimp.org/node/4235
Windows version: http://registry.gimp.org/node/13434

I use also "Wavelet sharpen" http://registry.gimp.org/node/9836

To show you the result I tested in on the first KR image.
(@KR: if it is a problem for you, I'll remove the picture immediately).

The original KR's picture:

"My" version adjusted with GIMP:

I think that I did quite the same thing as KR but in GIMP. I left more details/grain than KR, and increased fewer color saturation, it's a matter of choice.

I you want to try here is my workflow:

1) Wavelet Denoise:
Green: Threshold 2.3 Smoothness 0.49
Red : Threshold 5.4 Smoothness 0.85

2) Adjust luminance curve + few green saturation increase
(special ajustement to increase petals contrast)

3) Wavelet sharpen Amount: +0.4 radius 0.5
