The sun starts to light up the top of Ben Lomond

25 minutes later and the whole scene is lit by the January sun.

Those both really have a very luminous glow. The light was (to invoke a much abused word) epic and you did it justice. Nice!

Thanks Len. I think that the light is too soft for epic, mid winter North, low sun but it was very nice and I enjoyed being out in it from first light to sunset. Ken

Well worth getting up early then. Very nice.

Thankfully sunrise was 08:40 so not an early start. Sunrise today is 04:38 now that would require getting up early. Ken

Ok then, it's epically subtle. I like the fact it's subtle and 'integrated' into the scene rather than splashing all over it.

Well done.

But so different from the Loch Ard Gorge on the South Western coast of Victoria, Australia, (near Port Campbell) which was named after the ship of that name that was wrecked with considerable loss of life nearby after being caught on a lee shore and massive cliffs on first landfall in Australia.
