Why Canon at all

... does not sound logic to me. Just because some people post in the wrong thread does not mean everybody should do so

Well then webmaster, tell me which one of the areas I should post in. I checked each one of the AF, MF, Digital areas and I did not see any forum for APS and definately none for the EOS IX Lite. I would be more than happy to post in the correct place if you had an area for me to post in. Thank you.

Hi Michael,

do not worry about that, it was written with a smily at the end...

As soon as we get a hint of a user wahat kind of camera is missing in the forum structure, we will add a section for that camera. Give us a few minutes and it should appear in the AF section (it is an autofocus camera, isn't it?)

Webmaster. Could you please move EOS IX Lite from the Power... to the AF section. Yes the Canon EOS IX Lite is an autofocus camera. I think more people would be able to answer my questions if the category would me moved where it belongs. Thanks.

I heard and read many good things about FD lenses.
Also the A1 has the capabilities of Av,Tv,and program modes. And it looks good in black.

I am in the process of switching over from Nikon to Canon. I had an A-1 in the past and did not like how the controls for the aperature were. I switched to the Nikon F3 at that time. I had to sell my F3 and lensed because of money problems at the time. I moved to Oklahoma and my wife bought an EOS Rebel G. I liked the weight of the G because of how light it was compared to the F3 with motor drive. I did not like the fact that the lenses had no aperature ring so when we got divorced I went back to Nikon. I ended up with a F5 and a N80. I soon found myself using the camera in program mode and using the variable program to get the aperature that I wanted. Now with the 20D being at 1500. I figured that I would switch back to canon and go digital all the way. I have found that the aperature controls on the lens dont get used by me anyway. I also dont like how Nikon is dragging thier feet in the tech field. Canon blows them away in that respect.

I started out in photography in the service. I was stationed at Shemya Air Force base in the Aleutians, in the early 70's, and there was sure nothing else to do. My roomie bought a new camera and sold me his old yashica rangefinder and I was hooked. When I got out I bought a Canon AE-1 (not program) and it performed admirably for over 20 years with only battery changes in all kinds of weather and conditions. So a few years ago when I wanted to upgrade, why would I want to change after the brand had been so dependable for me over the years. I bought an EOS-3 and love it though recently (last Xmas) I got a Digital Rebel and have been using it almost exclusively since. More than anything else I think I just trust Canon now. I don't think they are inherently better than Nikon or Minolta but if it ain't broke don't fix it and it ain't ever broke. In fact, my old AE-1 is still alive and kicking. I gave it and all my old lenses to a friend who wanted to get into photography and she is using it now. That's 30 years without a failure. I can live with that... actually, if the new cameras last that long I'll be dead.

I've been using Canon about 10 years. My first was an Eos 5,I then got a 1n and then a 3.I got a D60 just as the D10 was introduced.I could'nt afford the 10 but the 60 still cost me 2000 IRL punts, ouch.I still use the 60 and love it,it fits well in my hand and I suppose that I'm just comfortable with it.I would never change from Canon, their lenses are excellent,(even though most of mine are sigma)and I think there simply the best. You hum it and I'll sing along.

> [Despite owning two R-series Leicas, I still own and use two Canons - a Canon A1 and a T70, complete with FD lenses of various makes. I became hooked on Canon back in the 1960s and have dragged them along with me over the mountains of Scotland for some 40 years without any mechanical or optical problems in the most extreme weather conditions. My first Canon was an early Canonet (1.9 lens)and I recently re-scanned transparencies taken with that lens. I scanned at 5400 dpi, using a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite, only to be amazed at the optical excellence of those early days. Looks like my son is also infected by the same Canon 'disease', since he turned up last week with an EOS 300D fitted with a Canon 18-55mm lens. The Canon legend is unstoppable!
