It is Christmas holidays and here I am again in the city shooting street photos. I had hoped for landscapes over these holidays but again and again the weather is grey drab and mirk. A lot of mirk.
Headed into city sales and then tried out a new set up on the canon old 5Dii. Canon L 135mm F2. Old lens but very beautiful sharpness.
Here are 5 from today. No stand out pictures but the lens looks promising for more shots soon. After the holidays Likely.

Thoughts on the canon 5D ii paired with this old lens that costs pea nuts these days.
CLASS CAMERA completely.
Yes there is noise at high iso. Yes there is banding if pushed past beyond photography.
I love working with sensors with flaws. They have different personalities and different looks. Street Photos can look amazing with such flaws.
The AF was not as competent as the D700 in my opinion BUT my D700 with 105mm F1.4 has a massive massive advantage by using a 2016 lens for professionals that lets in twice as much light as the canon 135mm F2 for obvious reasons wide open. Gear talk there for you. The Bokeh is excellent with this canon lens and the sharpness is old school which is actually a plus too. Photos are gorgeous quality as you would expect from normal decent Canon L glass i guess. The nikon 105 is a gem. The canon 135mm is in the same league for my street photos. Pentax 85mm F1.4 is a superb lens optically but heavy for street photography at night where I shoot many shots with one hand holding the camera. Your mileage might vary from mine.

More gear talk coming soon maybe if I have something useful or interesting or controversial to say to gear talkers everywhere.
