CM Zoom vs Minilux zoom

If any of you have used the CM Zoom, please share with us your thoughts. I get the feeling that the CM Zoom is not that good, coupled with the high price, as such the lack of comments you see on the internet. I had the same problem obtaining useful information about the TVSII, lack of comments, reviews and s&les. When I finally purchased one, the results were dissapointing. I hope that the CM Zoom is not in the same league.

A few quick comments on the CM ZOOM that I have been using for 3/4 = months. Yes, the pictures are extremely clear, especially when taken within range f5.6-11. And, yes, it is really a nice compact camera, handy and effecient under different conditions...and the manual = zoom is great!=20 But given the price, that's a min. requirement, don't you think so ? There are unfortunately a few drawbacks (given below without any =3D = ranking). 1. Even though it's a 'compact', the strap is quite boring and annoying =3D (having only one attach point and being made of a bad textile): if you =3D carry the camera around your neck you do feel it by the end of the day.=3D20 2. The loading of the film is not so easy, sometimes it works quickly, =3D sometimes it doesn't and you've got to try different lengths of the film =3D out of the cartrige before success. It can even be upsetting. 3. The control dial for autofocus mode/manual distance setting can be =3D modified too easily -without your consent...while you extract the camera =3D from under a jacket for instance. Then, if you want to quickly point and =3D shoot, 'got to be careful. 4. The viewfinder is clever but sometimes (when strong contrast, strong =3D light) the info is simply unreadable.=3D20 5. That the focus chosen is not clearly displayed (bluring of the aeras =3D out-of-focus) is not so nice. That's about it. You can consider them small things anyway and enjoy the easyness of use and extreme quality of the pictures, eh!

PS: Sorry that I have already sent this comment about the CM I do not = know anything about Pierre

CM Zoom

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum, & I must admit somewhat confused, I've owned a CM Zoom for about 3 years or more!! So are you saying there's an updated version out? There has been no mention of this in the UK. I replaced the minilux with this, I find it to be a superb camera, Although I agree about the battery compartment, on the Minilux the lid came off, that's the mistake I made when I tried to open the CM Zoom!
In January this year went to Venice for a couple of days for the express purpose of doing some night stuff, used fuji Neopan 400, weather drizzly, But results superb, will post some of the shots on albums.
