“I'm happy to announce that DPR is probably here to stay. I was just unsandboxed by DPR moderators and in their message they said users were given several weeks to promote alternative forums but that's in the past now; any further advertising of alternative forums would be banned.”

“So I guess DPR is formally here to stay. Hooray!”

So I guess DPR is formally here to stay.

I do think that the reason for this change is a different one. Do not trust these kind of interpretations. This is only hope of that person, but no proof. Same story as in the past.

They would have given the moderators already an indication, if that would be their plan.

Sorry to disappoint you. But I judge them by what the do, not what others think what the message could be between the lines.

What these users do is as reliable as to predict the future in the crystal ball

Time will tell.

So, I can post something there with the link to here in my sig line and get banned? Hold my beer. :)

Not in the past. I have not heard yet anything official. I will ask the DPR moderators, who are also here moderators to be sure.

This is somethin the admin Dale has to decide and not an individual moderator. I got the permission from Dale at that time and have screenshots of this.

If they should change now again their policy, they need to make this public and transparent and not by word of mouth. This would be unprofessional.

I was surprised, but not much, when I changed my sig that it didn't apply to my old posts. The biker forum has that feature. Good for covering up oops.

It's nothing but a smile, they say... save..., help..., close..., a closing date is announced, thousands of sympathisers and sufferers... then a smooth postponement of the closure - like making the site a read-only archive, and now working as if nothing had happened with the announcement of the closure disappearing... IMHO... Their reputation is ruined and they have no credibility

Hi! I'm Booted Cat. DPR's complete message to me: (Usually, it's DPR's site admin (boss of all voluntary moderators) who unsandboxed me and gave me this message)

I have two links in my DPR signature line, one pointing to DPRForum and the other to sister site L-Mount-Forum.com.

I am rarely posting over at DPR anyway but it will be interesting to see if anything happens as a result.

I removed my DPRF referral from DPR after the Booted Cat message. We'll have to wait and see...

I seldom post to DPR now.
