News DPReview was sold to Gear Patrol

And how does that support this wonderful forum that you enjoy for free?

No personal insult intended, many of us were / are like that, myself included. But eventually there is a cost for production/maintenance/moderation, etc. -- and where does the money come from? If Amazon can't figure that out, then, I dunno. Maybe GP has an answer, but I bet it will involve some changes.
While I own Canon cameras and gear, I am not in the market for the advertised brands outside of Canon and to suggest that a forum member should purchase everything advertised , which you are essentially suggesting, is nuts. The reason for owning camera gear is to photograph. Forums are strictly entertainment and if they go away because I didn't purchase everything advertised-It really doesn't matter . Forums are not the reason for owning photo gear just like facebook is not the reason for the internet. I've been buying photo gear since the 1950s from a hundred different vendors -most that no longer exist. While on dpreview for the last 20 yrs I have purchased cameras from amazon b&h adorama and a number of other places.. I do not feel obligated to buy BECAUSE I participate on any forum.

My feelings are that DPR is over. People have moved on. As for Chris and Jordan, who some called "The Maple Leaf Boys," were, from what I've heard, although it maybe false, lost DPR Advertisers for some of their videos/reviews, and were bais to some brands over others. I don't know and didn't care. I didn't watch their reviews anyway. I don't think DPR wants them back. Interesting comment "Nice of DPR not to ban them!" ???
Bottom line, time to move on. I go between DPR Forum and L-Mount forum now.

Good Luck
Roger J.
Yup, bottom line.

I've kept the email they sent with the link for deleting your account, I'll see which way the site goes but will most likely delete it as its become a ghost town now within most forums as its taken too long to sort out and people have moved on

I’m waiting for my Download Account Data at my chosen email entered in DPR, which took a lot quicker before. It’s now been 3 weeks and the link to the download data hasn’t appeared, but it can take up to 45 days. 7 days to download the file.

The fastest time was 1 hour, the slowest was about 4 to 7 days. I cannot do anything until the link appears.

Yesterday 29 June 2023 was the longest I had to wait for my Download Account Data to appear, 26 Days. Maximum is a 45 Day wait.

What REALLY Happened with DPReview and Amazon – The PetaPixel Podcast

"This week, Chris and Jordan are joined by DPReview editor Richard Butler to talk about what really happened with Amazon, DPReview, and Gear Patrol. Also, Nikon is already recalling the Z8? Phase One has a new $62,490 "travel camera" and speaking of medium format, how about a new stereoscopic camera?"

I watched the video. Unfortunately nothing new regarding the future strategy of GP with DPR.

I am afraid it will take a long time until we get to know what the real plan is.

I noticed Gear Patrol when I visited it, it had not integrated DPR with GearPatrol.com yet? I could not find the link.

There is a smalll link in their footer.

As long as there is no public announcement, that they want to integrate it into GP, it does not nake sense to put links at different spots.

Even if they would plan to integrate it long term, it is way to early to announce this now.

Thank you, I didn’t see the bottom, also I’m on Mobile. I’ll check.
