Contaxbs Alphabet Game

> Kare

Are you saying that the current R series lenses will be usable with the new digital SLR bodies? Or will the body be capable of both? Your reply was a little unclear to me.

Contax is available here, just slow on delivery, little information, except for the G series.

Regards,

Jim

Lynne, Contax (Yashica/Kyocera) closed it's depot in Toronto, Ontario.,Canada. They also lost their representative (distributor) for Canada.
As I said in my email a new rep/distributor for Canada has been appointed..Hence my comment "They've re-opend" However, the distributor's website does not at this stage show them to be a Contax distributor
Do you live in Canada?

> Jim, Leica will shortly be releasing a digital back for that works both with R8 and R9 bodies.

It seems like you basically just replace the old film back with a digital back. Also you mount a different focusing screen to compensate for the chance in focal lenth coming from the fact that the Digital sensor is not a full frame.

And yes, if I understand it correct you can change back and forth between film and digital. The sensor is a 10 megapix sensor from Kodak. The software is developed by Danish Imacon.

Take a look at www.leica-camera.com

Here is a little more to bitch about Kyocera. Extracted from Poular Photography.

KYOCERA CONCENTRATES ON COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERAS:
Looking to double its market share of point-and-shoot digital cameras to 10 percent, Kyocera is putting digital SLR development on hold temporarily (although they are considering a comparatively less expensive APS-size sensor camera for the future). Present concentration will be on their RTune Image Processor which provides new Kyocera digital cameras with 1 second wakeup time, .07 sec shutter time lag and continuous shooting up to full memory. First camera with RTune is the present ultrapocketable (15mm thick) Finecam SL300R, with two more P/S cameras to come. Future goal: zero time lag.
