The closure of Leica will be a far greater loss than any car company. I can speak from personal experience as none of the companies you mentioned advanced automotive engineering.
Leitz/Leica in its latest iteration under Lothar Kölsch did advance optics to another level.
Sadly I suspect Leica Camera AG will ultimately disappear when the current owners have "milked" the name.
In the meantime stock up on some old cameras for spare parts as one does with a Studebaker, Packard or pre 1965 Rolls-Royce.
