New Project 52 for 2024

25/52: Here is one last shot from the MOHAI visit. This connects (a little bit) with the Week 17 "mummy" picture... at least to me it does! I was shooting at a weird angle and had to do a lot of cropping to lop-off the side and background distractions. Also, the "VR" (IS) switch on the lens was turned-off (for some odd reason) although 1/30 sec. @ 20mm is not a problem to hand-hold. Ahhhhh.... I think I know why the EXIF is being stripped... and that's because I'm now using "Windows Photos" to quickly re-size the image to suit DPRF requirements... rather than using PSE or Capture One.

26/52: The half-way point! It has been a lot of fun. Thank-you bratpix for the invitation. Here is a picture from the end of the airport runway (34R). An nice sunny day and there was another photographer shooting as well... so I am not the only goofball out there)! SEA to DXB.

Château d'Azay-le-Rideau - it makes you think. 500 years ago. Life was much different (obviously). I probably would have been a woodworker of some sort. I looked at the map and I see an "L" shaped castle in the middle of a small pond/lake. Did you go there just for the day? It is ~250km (one way) southwest from Paris through Orleans, Blois and Tours.

The château d'Azay-le-Rideau is much smaller than it used to be. Most of it was destroyed by an owner who could not pay for its renovation. My wife and I were invited by friends to spend about four days in the region, where it is said there are about 1000 (one thousand) castels. We visited six of them (château d'Azay-le-Rideau, château royal d'Amboise, château du Clos Lucé (where Leonado da Vinci died), château de Beauregard, château de Cheverny and château de Talcy). If you are interested, you will be able to see a few pictures I took of each of them on my website (here), starting on July 21. Right now this website is busy with a lot of pictures about animals.

27/52 - I will add to the thread. I liked the back/side lighting on this one. And you can see the tug captain looking my direction. It was a nice warm evening standing by the water. Maybe that's what I remember. ASD Tractor with (2) Rolls Royce US205 P20 Z-Drives with two CAT 3512C engines (4750 HP @ 1800 RPM). Two propellers @ 8-feet diameter (2.44m). LOA 78 feet (23.8m). Heading south to Tacoma. FL = 500mm.
