I agree, please post up here if you have the shots. I certainly don't care if you're using non-Pentax equipment, and in fact I've been eyeing the Nikon Z cameras for a while now. At any rate, I'd love to see your stuff here. Just mention what equipment you're using at the top of your post since this is a Pentax forum. It's all about going out and enjoying the experience of shooting photos, in my opinion, whether you're wielding a Pentax, Nikon, or even a (*choke*) Canon. This started for me when I joined this challenge, and folks there are using all kinds of gear, including cell phones.

I was feeling pekid yesterday, so my K-1 mIIs got the day off. I was back at it today, however, and I have a couple of in-camera generated jpgs for you. It was almost like shooting with the K-3III Monochrome, or so I can imagine.

Dino, I was looking at that last color photo you posted and thought, "Gee, I wonder what that would look like in black and white." Oh well. Anyway, I like the misty soft light on the mountains, and how that poorly defined road leads the eye to the buildings. Nicely done, sir.

Yes that is interesting. You feel a need to see it in B/W.
The view in real life was just so beautiful and because it was so vivid in my mind when i processed I wanted to just try and show what I saw with my eye. The photo version looks almost colourless too much but that is the direction it looked like in real life. The colours looked subtle to me and soft in the morning light. Perhaps it will need the colour slightly boosted because the laptop screen does not look like the real thing. It is impossible to show how it looked really but I tried to show it. The colour was subtle hues of green and the hills had the sun delicately brushing across the hill tops with a warm glow. Digital did a good job perhaps compared to being stuck with film and no control BUT at the same time the real thing is impossible to display on the laptop what i thought I was seeing. It looks rather colourless somehow when really it was beautiful.
Just take my word for it. It was a lovely sight and all I had to do was point the tripod and shoot it.

Ok I can see you are heading for a nikon Z something by the sound of things. We are all different on opinions so it is not even worth debating. I change my mind on things all the time.
The mirrorless would solve your issue with wrong manual focus I should imagine so that for you could be a major benefit but how many shots has it been a problem and is there a work around with the K1 ( Live view ) when you know there might be an issue with focus. Only you know the answer. My eyes cannot see the screen very good with mirrorless so I am completely opposite to the 99.999% that think mirrorless is better.
Any canon and Nikon I buy so far are all with viewfinders. I am a funny guy with tech.

Yeah, mirrorless would solve any problems I have, but honestly, I think I figured them out a while ago as I've been having pretty good success (relatively speaking). I'm seeing sharpness in the viewfinder in the same places I'm seeing sharpness in the resulting photo, and that's the goal. I sometimes wish I could brighten the viewfinder, particularly with some lenses like my 400-600mm reflex zoom, and I sometimes wish for magnification but I've been successful (by my own measure) without those features. I've been without autofocus for many years now, and I'm half afraid of what I'd end up with if I did purchase a Z and a native lens or two. Manually focusing the image in the viewfinder is a big part of what I find fun about photography, and if I just have to point the camera at something without doing any work, what fun is that? So, I think I'm going to keep my tent in the Pentax camp for the foreseeable future.

Today was another hot day, but I still got out and picked up a couple images from the town center where we also bagged some ice cream. As Dino would say, not much to see here, but I got something a little different to show. Like it if you want to. :)

Warm here too this weekend, and we might be on the outskirts of a hurricane coming up from Mexico. Meanwhile, here's a couple of my "takes."

Thanks for posting! I really like that first image, the colors are extraordinary and the image looks sharp as a tack all the way through. A very bright scene that holds the attention, and that little fenceline along the left side of the image draws the eye in nicely. The second one is good too, but the assymmetry bugs me a little. And of course it's dark and foreboding, the exact opposite mood as the image above. Again, keep them coming, Nikonian.

Thank you JCD for the compliment on the two very different images. I'm not a real Nikonian yet, still learning the system. Several pluses, a couple minuses so far.

I do appreciate and applaud Dino's and your daily contributions. While I appreciate "stunning, once in a lifetime" images that appear on occasion, I find the "daily" more frequent, "all types of life" random pix more interesting. And in that regard, I'm honored to be allowed to post the occasional shots I can contribute on your thread.

Here is another from the Wales trip.
